In the Budget for 2023 which was presented by the Minister of Finance and Employment Clyde Caruana on 24 October 2022, the Government has renewed its social and economic emphasis in light of the recent challenges brought about by the increasing inflation, in particular the increasing energy costs in the EU. During his speech, the Minister mentioned three guiding principles for the preparation of this Budget, (i) economic stability, (ii) better energy policies, and (iii) a strong fiscal environment.
